As the first half of the season closes, we're filled with gratitude that our community of athletes trusts us to create the backdrop and narrate their stories to the tune of 10,000 registrations in 2026 and 37.8 million photos at the Cal Tri Events Flickr page. Remember that the real endurance sport is sorting through all the free photos after the race.
36% YoY Registration Increase
Registration across our race series is sharply up year over year, a reflection of the incredible athletes, volunteers, partners, and communities who continue to believe in what we're building together. After a busy first half, we get to catch our breath before turning our attention to the final seven races of the 2026 season and, just as importantly, laying the foundation for an even bigger 2027.
$85 All-In Early Bird Sale August 5th
Our $85 All-In Early Bird Sale opens for the first half of the 2027 season on August 5th. Athletes will once again have the opportunity to lock in races for just $85 all-in, making it easier than ever to put goals on the calendar and start the journey toward another unforgettable season. Better yet, volunteer at a Cal Tri Events race and earn a free race entry.
People Making Waves
As Cal Tri Events continues to grow, so does our team. We're thrilled to welcome Ryan Dell as our second full-time employee. Based on the East Coast, Ryan will lead our planning and help expand our reach and create exceptional race experiences across the country. We're equally excited to recognize Kim Degen as the second inductee into the Cal Tri Hall of Fame, joining inaugural member Anthony Grey. Kim's dedication, leadership, and lasting impact on our community make this honor incredibly well deserved.
Robust 2025 Financials
Cal Tri Events is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Transparency has always been one of our core values, and we're pleased that our 2025 financial statements are now publicly available. They reflect an outstanding year across the organization and position us well for continued investment in our athletes, races, and the future of endurance sports.
Partners Delivering Value
None of this growth would be possible without outstanding partners like multiyear Series Sponsor Optimism. Optimism's well-being media platform reaches more than 2 million subscribers via trusted wellness and longevity brands including All Healthy and Super Age. We're incredibly grateful to La Crema for its multiyear partnership, and to Blueseventy, whose continued support helps elevate the athlete experience both in and out of the water. These relationships are built on shared values and a mutual commitment to creating exceptional experiences for our athletes and communities.
New 2026 & 2027 Races
Our race calendar continues to expand as well. We're excited to introduce Cal Tri Lake Havasu and Cal Tri Houston to the 2026 schedule, while also growing our Arizona footprint through the acquisition of the beloved Oro Valley Triathlon. Thank you, Julie Stark, for trusting us with your baby! Every new race is an opportunity to welcome more athletes into the Cal Tri family and strengthen the local communities that make endurance sports so special. A few additional 2027 races will be announced soon.
Industry Impact
Our commitment to the endurance community extends well beyond race day. In 2025, we published an industry-first U.S. market report that identified a 46% participation decrease in NGB insured races since the peak in 2013. That information was presented at the 2025 Triathlon Industry Association Conference in the UK where we also committed to completing a baseline market sizing for non-NGB insured races in 1Q26 that was published in Triathlete Magazine. In September 2025, we acquired TriFind, strengthening one of the sport's most valuable resources for helping athletes discover races across North America. On October 31, we look forward to hosting the TriFind Race Director Summit in Newport Beach, California, bringing together the industry's most influential race directors and brand partners for an afternoon of insight, collaboration, and recognition.
Whether we're organizing races, building technology, or collaborating with industry leaders, our goal remains the same: helping triathlon grow and become more accessible for athletes everywhere.
SoCal Weekly Training Returns in 2027
For our California athletes, we're bringing back free weekly structured training sessions and Epic Rides in early 2027. These are opportunities to train together, build community, and prepare for race day throughout the season. Our vision is for this successful California model to become the model for a nationwide expansion beginning in 2H27.
Thank You Cal Tri Events Community
Thank you for being part of this journey. Every registration, volunteer shift, partnership, finish line celebration, and word of encouragement helps shape what Cal Tri Events has become. We're incredibly upbeat about the road ahead and can't wait to see what we'll accomplish together during the remainder of 2026 and beyond.
